The Greater Whiteville Chamber of Commerce and the Columbus County Tourism Development Authority (TDA) are continuing the initiative to consolidate and unify their efforts. The organizations are pleased to announce that Jennifer Holcomb, the current director of the TDA will serve as director for both entities during the transition.
Todd Collins, Chairman of the Chamber Board, expressed “The Chamber is pleased with the progress of the transition team and the selection of Jennifer as interim director. I am beyond confident with her abilities to accomplish the needs of the chamber.” Jennifer has been director of the TDA for 8 years and has worked on many projects with the Chamber. The TDA is housed in the Chamber building, which will make an easier transition and will eliminate many instances of duplication. “I am looking forward to working with the Chamber board and its members as we collaboratively strive to make a better community”, Jennifer stated. Reiterating what Jennifer said, TDA Chairman, Rhonda Dutton, speaking on behalf of the TDA board, exclaimed, “Our Tourism Board represents all of Columbus County and it is our desire to see each community and every organization working together to make a difference. We realize that tourism development, business support, and community development are all components of our future success. The initiative for the TDA to work collaboratively with the Chamber on a more formal basis is a great opportunity for us all.” Jennifer will start her dual role on April 1, 2013.
We thank you for your continued support,
Todd Collins, Chairman
